Newcastle Lions Club tee off in support of cancer awareness

When one of their own found out that she had breast cancer, it became a very personal project for the Lions Club.

The Newcastle Lions Club hosted the Bras & Bras Charity Golf Day on September 9 at the Newcastle Golf Club.

The aim of the day was to raise awareness of breast cancer and also to extend the focus towards childhood cancer. When one of their own found out that she had breast cancer, it became a very personal project for the Lions Club.

There were a total of 110 golfers out on the course with the day being very well supported by players and the public alike.

“The Newcastle Lions Ladies are very grateful to all the sponsors, the golf club, the companies that manned the watering holes and everyone who contributed to making the day such a success,” said the club.

With East Coast Radio’s Dave Gueselli as the master of ceremonies, guests enjoyed their time on the fairway.

“We extend a sincere thank you to everyone involved for their generous support in the form of sponsorships, gifts, prizes, and donations for the Lions Bras & Bras Charity Golf Day. Thank you for helping us make this day a fantastic success.”

All funds raised will go towards the Newcastle Lions Club’s continued efforts to make a difference and serve our community.

“No one fights alone!” the Lions Club concluded.
