Golfers ‘tee off for good’ at Newcastle Mall’s charity golf day

The Newcastle Golf Club hosted the Newcastle Mall's Charity Golf Day last Saturday (June 10) to raise funds for the St Martins Children's Village.

Golf enthusiasts, residents and businesses all pitched in support and fundraise for the non-profit organisation that provides care for abandoned, abuse and traumatised children and babies in the community.

The golf day followed a better ball format with a shotgun with the following results:

First place: Chris Khanyile and Sheng-Po Tseng with 47 points,

Second place: Gideon Crafford and J R du Toit (47 points),

Third place: Ryno de Vos and Quinton vd Hoogen (46 points),

Fourth place: Leon Rothman and Renier Terblanche (45 points) and

Fifth place: Richard Clayton and Jannie Esterhuizen (44 points).

Newcastle Mall’s manager, Beulah Rajkumar, thanked  “the golf club committee for assisting with putting the day together, all the sponsors and supporters of the event.”
