Newcastle power-lifters excel at RPC Push & Pull

At the end of the day, the four Newcastle representatives excelled and won medals, certificates and even cash prizes.

Congratulations to Anèlda Booysen, Zarina Luck, Tiaan van Wyk and Marthiens Louwrens of Gato’s Basecamp Gym in Newcastle, who competed in the Rhino Power-lifting Club’s (RPC) Push & Pull Competition on Saturday in Thornville, Pietermaritzburg.

The competition’s goal was for the participants to push themselves to the limit while displaying strength in bench-press and dead-lift.

These athletes competed against some of the best power-lifters KwaZulu-Natal has to offer, many of whom have won a variety of championships over the years.

At the end of the day, the four Newcastle representatives excelled and won medals, certificates and even cash prizes.

These athletes will once again take to the ‘stage’ on November 12 when they take part in the RPC Weight Wreckers KZN National Qualifier Competition, in the hopes of making it to the South African Nationals.
