Newcastle Bowling Club hosted the Northern Zone Men’s and Ladies’ Pairs at the weekend, with a pleasing number of entries.
Ladies’ section winners were the duos of Michelle Steele and Eleen Roux (Newcastle), and Rita Meyer and Taryn Bierbaum (Dundee). The final was a close affair for most of the game, until Rita and Taryn took control to run out the winners and take the title.
Alice Howe and Edith Pretorius won their match against Joanne Melville and Sheryl Hesom to finish third.
