Legends faces Joburg Expats in charity match

The local team faced a tough challenge in a group of ex-professional footballers.

This past weekend, Newcastle Legends faced off against the Expats from Johannesburg in a fun charity exhibition soccer game. Expats is a group of entertaining ex-professional footballers.

According to local soccer convener, Mervyn Maharaj, Expats enjoyed the majority of the possession in the first quarter, but failed to capitalise on the opportunities.

Legends began to find its footing in the second quarter and began to launch its own attacks, with Dennis Gounden acting as the livewire on the left wing.”

While the action on the pitch was intense, the day focused more on community and charity.
