Councillor’s words of advice during lockdown

Make it easier for our law enforcement officers to do their jobs by respecting them

Editor –

As a Democratic Alliance (DA) councillor at Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality, I wish that people would respect the rules and regulations of the road during this time of the pandemic.

People must behave, protect their loved ones and more especially, people who travel every day must ensure that they have sanitizer and face masks.

During this difficult time when the economy is not showing job creation, our industries are collapsing. Some of our people don’t have water; I refer to Ward 4. Local government should help and send water.

Our children travel a long way to fetch water and their lives are at risk.

I wish to ask motorists to please respect the rules of the road. Make it easier for our law enforcement officers to do their jobs by respecting them.

Please don’t drink and drive, and ensure that you keep the social distance requirements. Let us love one another.

Councillor Musa Nkala (Democratic Alliance)
