Dundee needs the ‘Sheriff’ to intervene

'Filth, grime and lawlessness have destroyed what was once a fairly nice town - sad.'

Sir – Dundee town was again a filthy mess this weekend. It looked like one of those ‘Wild West’ towns when the only thing missing is a Sheriff.

No Sheriff (did someone finally shoot him and his deputy?) and the smashed green bottles were easy to spot. The trail started near the hospital, went down McKenzie Street, up Gladstone Street, down Beaconsfield Street, where cardboard boxes (the green ones) were strewn around the Shoprite Centre, where it looked as if Clint Eastwood had his last stand.

What an extraordinary mess!

More smashed bottles, litter of all kind, people selling goods from the parking bays (bad luck if you want to park) and people walking around drinking beer from quart bottles and others sitting in the back of bakkies drinking alcohol, playing loud music.
The whole town looked scary and for those who can, the obvious place to shop was Newcastle Mall.

The filth, grime and lawlessness have destroyed what was once a fairly nice town – sad.
