We, the residents of Estcourt, are concerned about the person/s using fireworks and causing disruption in the community and scaring animals during the festive season.

The question asked to the municipality is: are the by-laws concerning fireworks in place and are there persons enforcing the by-laws, as previously done by the fire department?
There have been loud blasts of fireworks from the beginning of December 2019 and throughout the month, some times throughout the year.
Do residents know that they cannot discharge fireworks in the residential areas and only discharge fireworks on days stipulated in the by-laws and at places mentioned in the by-laws?
Do persons selling fireworks know all the regulations and laws regarding fireworks and days that they may sell fireworks?
Are the persons selling the fireworks registered as this must be done yearly with the relevant departments?
This is a great concern as we are challenged with a number of problems caused by fireworks.
Can the municipality of our town please look into this matter and report back to the Estcourt News?
