‘Can the Springboks save Dundee from itself?’

"...Please be like our Bok captain, Siya, lead by example and assist our community..."

Sir – I would like to second Chris Potgieter’s thoughts re: the forced closure of Dr Fourie’s Talana Sub-Acute Clinic by the Health Department. The Courier also highlighted this issue for which I thank the newspaper for continually exposing issues like this that otherwise would have been swept under the proverbial carpet.

It is indeed a scandal that a Government that prides itself putting people first should decide to close down a clinic that employs 140 people and provides a health service that the dismal Dundee Hospital will never be able to do. It is shocking.

Where is Mayor Mdluli in all this? We like you, Sir, but please be like our Bok captain, Siya, lead by example and assist our community.

Coming on top of the fire at Orange Grove and the Coin-It saga, Dundee has certainly had a rough year. I think the Boks should visit our town to uplift our area. And it should also be noted that many people at certain businesses here, and in the District (Vaalkranz Mine exposed by the Herald), have not been paid salaries.

A sad indictment of our rainbow nation. Bring on the Boks.
