Closure of the Talana Sub-Acute Clinic is ‘lunacy’

"A reasonable response from the DoH would be appreciated by the public."

Sir – Regarding the shocking news of the Health Department’s closure of the Talana Sub-Acute Clinic:

Should the powers that are bestowed upon the Department of Health be conducted in a lucid and forbearing manner, then I will have no query. Surely the extreme sensitivity of this case should be handled in a discreet manner, and valued against the essential long term health service provided to the public and the sick?

My personal perspective is for a practice that has been in existence for so long, surely it must have adhered to most if not all reasonable requirements of the DoH? If not, then surely in the importance of its service, a civil accord can be reached to prevent the lunacy to close the facility down?

I am sure a reasonable response from the DoH would be appreciated by the public.
