On March 9, I arrived home to total darkness, checked my trip switch, all ok, no problem on my side.
I then received a call from my neighbour Gavin Govender informing me of a tree that had fallen into my yard, damaging my wall as well as the electrical overhead cable.
My first instinct was to call the control centre that assisted me promptly, thanks to Soneatha Rambaran, who then informed the municipality’s electrical department.
Within a very short time, Ryno van der Nest from the electrical department arrived to assist me, this was at 11.30pm, and he worked until the early hours of Sunday to sort out the problem.
This was outstanding service performed by Ryno, who kept me updated. To the municipality, there is still light at the end of the tunnel, provided you have the right staff.
Well done to all who assisted and Ryno, you make the electrical department rock!
