LETTERS – ‘It just gets weirder people’

It seems, sadly, no one really answers that phone. Basically, you have to call the Courier if there is k@k flowing

Sir

The Courier does great work in exposing faults in society and praising those who do their bit to make a difference in our town – people like Gavin Slater who supported the Shavathon by growing his hair for two years and then cutting it.

And then there are those working at Government institutions who also do great work. I am thinking of the state and private doctor and nurses who were at the hospital casualty ward late on Saturday when an ill tourist was brought in.

The poor man passed on but your care and assistance are appreciated. People who man the emergency lines – well done. Sadly, there are those who do not answer these lines. Like the police station after hours – does anyone know the correct number to call?

By the time you have asked all your neighbours and you have scribbled down the right number, that axe could be through your head. And then there is the water line at Umzinyathi Municipality. It seems, sadly, no one really answers that phone. Basically, you have to call the Courier if there is k@k flowing.

Hopefully, the line will be fixed soon.
