Editor – It breaks my heart to see homeless people living on the streets.
Why can’t our local municipality built a shelter for the homeless in Ladysmith? Let’s have a heart, please. If only I had the funds, I would do it in a heartbeat.
It’s really not their fault that they’re living like this; only they will know the reason why.
Last week Monday, I was in the CBD area when I noticed an elderly man dressed in rags, without shoes, begging for money. How can we not help?
Even if we get teams from different organisations who can come on board and take responsibility by feeding, clothing, finding employment and educating the homeless.
My heart cried when I saw this homeless man, frozen and battling to walk, as he was carrying all he owned in a small backpack, carrying a board I guess he sleeps on.
Ladysmith, let’s get together and think of something to help our homeless.
