uThukela responds to ‘Call Centre number’ letter

We fully understood and anticipated that this could inconvenience our customers in one way or the other, but this was just a temporary arrangement and everything is now back to normalcy

Editor – The untruthful, inaccurate, unfair and misleading comments made in your newspaper by ‘Every Drop Counts’ are unfounded.

To put matters into perspective, it is correct that the Call Centre number in question was not functional as from Friday, May 11, up until Thursday, May 17, due to the relocation process of our Call Centre to our new Disaster Centre situated in Acaciavale.

As a matter of principle, we had to inform our customers about the situation, which was just a temporary arrangement, using every available communication channel to make sure we got the message across to our customers.

It is far-fetched and misleading that we then left a voicemail message informing people that our Call Centre number was no more in operation or discontinued, as alleged by your reader, as we do not even have a voicemail facility in our telephone system.

We therefore also provided our customers with two alternative contact numbers to use during office hours, as our usual 24-hour services Call Centre number was temporarily not functioning due to the relocation process.

We fully understood and anticipated that this could inconvenience our customers in one way or the other, but as I have already said, this was just a temporary arrangement and everything is now back to normalcy.

We wish to pass our sincere apologies to all those who were inconvenienced by this whole relocation process.

We also wish to inform all our customers that our Call Centre number (0860104257) is functioning optimally now.
