What are we coming to? – Mrs Ansje du Plessis asks

The street lights in Good/George Smith streets are not OUT but they burn during the DAY and then at NIGHT they are off

Me again and this time I would like to reply to the Municipal Manager:  Thank you for your answer but I think I did not make myself clear.

The street lights in Good/George Smith streets are not OUT but they burn during the DAY and then at NIGHT they are off!  But interesting that you say that this matter has not been reported to you.

I know that, but in the same sentence you state that the cherry picker is broken or in disrepair. So what is the use of informing you when there is no means to fix the lights?

However, I know that the street lights in Welsh Road have been out for a considerable time now. And there are also a few more streets that do not have lights.

And also how does it work that the street light on the corner of Brickhill Road and Good Street is working or does that have nothing to do with the municipality?

I would also like to know what is being done about the persons who are running businesses out of a residential area.  Here in Brewitt Park is somebody who is running a transport business and the vehicles are up and down George Smith Street at all hours of the day and night.

I think that this business has been reported to the municipality many times. Then there is also the glass works across the road from the Moth Hall…really this has been going on for some time now and NOBODY DOES anything. That is just not good enough.

Then I went onto the Estcourt municipal webpage to get a copy of the by-laws and to my excitement they are all – not to be found – nice. What are we coming to?
