Editor – When our town experienced drought conditions, religious leaders summoned their flocks to pray for rain.
Most churches, temples and masjids participated in imploring God Almighty to shower us with rain.
What I find disturbing is now that we are blessed with rain on an almost daily basis, no religious institution, to my knowledge, has had a mass “Thanksgiving” session for the splendid rains we have experienced.
This is a sad reflection and confirms that we turn to God only when we are in need.
As a starting point, every priest, pundit and moulana should lead his congregation in thanking God Almighty for excellent rainfall.
We can be grateful we are not in the same situation as Cape Town, thanks to the Almighty.
So let’s thank Him properly!
