Our town is rotting into neglect

I am not calling on you to torch and destroy, but at least do something

Well done to our so helpful and very busy town council. So this is an acceptable, rotting town that we all have so graciously come accustomed to.

We drive past it and walk past this ever welcoming filth and we can stand up proudly and say, YES please come into Inkosi Langalibalele and please visit our so attractive town or should I rather be frank and say a pig sty is 100 percent cleaner and hygienic than this rotting, stinking town.

Are you, the council members, as well as our ward councillors going to get out into the communities and do something drastic to CLEAN and DISINFECT OUR town? Or would you prefer an option?

We take total control of our own roads and pavements BUT then you have no rights to our rates. We would manage and use the money more wisely and still have change in the coffers.

So the choice IS all yours. Good people of Estcourt, stand for what IS just and right and let us start placing our demands.

Building refuse dumped in a gutter.

Why should only the municipal workers strike and set things on fire. What IS wrong with us that are paying our rates monthly and receiving NO services?

I am not calling on you to torch and destroy, but at least do something. Let us not wait and hope the next person will sort the problems out.

We too have our rights as paying citizens of South Africa. It is time to take our town back and restore it to the glory it once was.

Also, apparently the encyclopedia of by-laws is there to be used. May I ask why is no one implementing them? Are you too short staffed…ummm, there is an idea… more jobs for those who want to work an honest day’s work.

The community is crying out for people they can trust. No corrupt, bribe-takers who are clearly there for personal takings. Let us maybe try a new way of doing things. Clearly the old, existing ways are not working.
