Editor – The article ‘Ex councillor employed by municipality’ in the Ladysmith Gazette raised both my eyebrows!
If my memory serves me correctly, a lady friend laid charges of alleged abuse against Mr Mhlongo a couple of years ago. Did the Human Resources Management Department not follow the proper protocol when appointing Mr Mhlongo? One would think that the Human Resources Department would employ people who would add value to the municipality and not waste ratepayers’ money.
Why did Mayor Vincent Madlala not ask Mr Mhlongo what he was doing in the Mayoral Office? Surely the mayor would have been advised that Mr Mhlongo was appointed as one of his new bodyguards.
Can Public Safety confirm openly that Mr Mhlongo did the same driving test that so many fail the first time?
May I ask the mayor, tongue-in-cheek: Will Mr Mhlongo, when on duty, continue to wear his shiny trousers and bold jackets with lashings of braid and embroidery?
