Editor – Re: Municipality wins national award. You can’t be serious, I mean really? Let me be frank and express my right to freedom of speech.
We have roads riddled with potholes; grass and weeds growing everywhere, even on the road surface; and animals wandering the streets. And here we go again with the municipality sending their contractors to measure our houses, businesses and the land we occupy to check for extensions to the buildings or whether we have increased our land legally or illegally. This is so that the municipality can and will increase our rates again.
With no service delivery whatsoever, why pay more? I, as a ratepayer and taxpayer, feel we are being ripped off. It’s daylight robbery! Community members who were affected by the devastating storm of December 2012 (and up until this date) have received no help from this municipality.
The municipality’s name change says it all! I rest my case!
