A relay of park parties spoilt the party

The festive season was indeed festive for many but not for us living in the vicinity of Coronation Park. How embarrassing for our visitors to see relays of parties moving in and out for a solid 14 days – mostly drunken affairs, noisy with loud music none of us want to hear and, of course, once they have gone, the litter remains.
The municipal notice warning against littering, making of fires etc. is blatantly ignored as are our calls to the police station. Obviously, noise, littering and drinking in public are no longer public offences.
Residents here will be simply cutting the rates they pay to the municipality as this municipality can no longer provide a service to promote health and safety.
