‘We should all live as brothers’

May the peace of God be on us, and His will be done...

Sir
I am a Christian who has read the Qur’an and found out why Muslims and Christians should together live as brothers!
The Qur’an has 114 books and each book is referred to as a Surah with no chapters but only verses. All quotations are from the Abdullah Yusuf Ali translation.

The Arabic word for God is Allah, and the Qur’an defines Allah as follows in the very first verse; Surah 1:1 “In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.” Surah 20:4,”…Him Who created the earth and the heavens on high.”

Before Mohammed (P) revealed the God of the Bible to the Arab nations, they were total pagans who worshipped idols. They even buried their doters alive for their different gods (allah’s).

Mohammed (570-632 AD) had a big and dangerous task to convince these people that there is only one Allah, the God of the Bible.

Surah 2 :136; “Say ye: “We believe in Allah, and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Ismail, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to (all) prophets from their Lord: We make no difference between one or another of them: And we bow to Allah (in Islam).” Quotations in brackets is not in the Arabic Qur’an, but is added by the translator according to his view. Surah 4:136′ “O you who believe in God and His Messenger, and in the scriptures which He has sent to His messenger and the scripture which He sent to those before (him).

Any who denies God, His angels, His books, His Messengers, and the Day of Judgement, has gone far, far astray.” (Surah 2:4) The scriptures before him refer to the (Taurat and Injeel) which is the Bible, and these Words of Allah also stands under His protection (Surah 6:115).

Muslims, like the Jews today, understand God as one, the way He is described in the Old Testament (Ex.20:2,3; Isa.44:6, 8). Christians understand the ONE God as three, God the Father, Jesus the Word of God and the Holy Spirit working together as one (1John 5:7). Jesus is also identified as God in verse 20 NKJ. The Christian view of adding gods to God almighty is when strange, non-existing pagan gods are added to Him.
May the peace of God be on us, and His will be done.
