Walter is water wise – are you?

Madam – The media is telling people to be water wise because there will be water shortages and crisis days coming up.

Too many people are quick to ignore the warnings. Driving through residential suburbs is the worst as you can see some people just don’t care about the environment and what we are doing to it.

Sprinkler systems for gardens are on for hours at a time and there are water leaks from taps and more, and no one seems to care. But when the town was without water for a few days a couple of weeks back, these same people were quick to blame the municipality and moan about it on the Internet.

It just makes me sad that some people can be such hypocrites to whine about no water but at the same time be fine about wasting water. “If you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem.”

We need to be using water with discretion because one day we may not have water anymore and then there will be no use crying about it!
