Editor – On Monday, my car broke down in the most dangerous place in Poort Road. The vehicle could not move as it was a gear problem and it was on the uphill.
RTI officials stopped and called the municipal traffic dept to assist.
A traffic lady arrived and assisted with directing traffic and called for male assistance to push the car off the road as we couldn’t do it.
Two male traffic officers arrived and assisted with pushing the vehicle all the way up the hill and off the road. I am so sorry that I did not take their names because of all the traffic build up and the non-stop ringing of my phones in my car.
To all those traffic officers and to the mechanic from Garfield Workshop who also stopped to see if he can assist and who repaired my car, I would like to extend my deepest appreciation.
You have just proven that there are still GREAT people in this town. I would really like it if I could get the names of those traffic officers as they really went beyond the call of duty.
