Madam – We refer to your article “Floodlights, camera, action ” published on 30 January 2015.
Whilst the Association supports any action against the immoral behaviour that is taking place, we believe although this will go a long way in achieving their objectives there is no guarantee that the present will be solved.
We have previously requested Council to consider converting this park into a parking area for the simple reason that the widening of Sutherland Street is on the capital programme and more and more offices are being established alongside Sutherland Street and widening of this street will restrict parking in that area more so because the corner diagonally across from the park was originally earmarked for parking but this idea has since been abandoned.
It will be interesting to know the opinions of the surrounding business people.
