Sir
With reference to your article regarding the feeding scheme via the Crisis Centre, there are a few items I wish to clarify.
In all fairness to the Mayor, Mr Mahaye, I don’t believe that there is a “fight” going on between him and us and I must say that he has met with me on quite a few occasions and has tried to source an alternative venue. I do believe that he genuinely wants to see the feeding scheme continue.
Mr Mahaye and his staff members have been to the area where we are now feeding and at this point in time are happy that people are still being fed, and do not have a problem with the feeding taking place below the cemetery.
He and his staff members are now trying to source another venue, as the previous venues were not acceptable with the current resident on those premises.
Hopefully this will materialise in the near future, but until such time, we are hoping to continue feeding the poor in our community.
