Madam – Outstanding services provided at Newcastle Provincial Hospital.
On the 12th of September 2014 at around 7.45pm, I suspected that there was something seriously wrong with my pregnancy (14 weeks) as I had unexpectedly severe cramps and bleeding.
My husband rushed me to Newcastle Hospital at 8.30pm. During my trip to the Newcastle Hospital, a lot of negative thoughts ran through my mind as I have read in the local newspapers a few article portraying the hospital in a negative light.
To my surprise, the nurse who saw to me on entry into the hospital, was friendly, helpful and caring. She stabilized me and promptly called a doctor to see to me as she suspected that I was having a miscarriage.
A short while later, the doctor arrived and saw to me. He was very professional and reassured me and asked for me to be admitted to ward 5 and sent to theater the next morning for a surgical procedure called a D and C.
My stay in Ward 5 was pleasant. The wards were clean and tidy. The staff were always helpful and I was monitored regularly. The next morning I was taken to theater and discharged in the afternoon without any complications.
I wish to thank you and your management team and staff at Newcastle Hospital for the outstanding services provided to me in my time of need. Keep up the sterling work.
