Madiba’s rainbow nation dream is fading

Children do not get out of control, listen to your parents. Stop wanting free accommodation, unnecessary grants and most of all stop all the negativity you have amongst yourselves.

Allow me to have a say about what I think as an elderly person.
We might not be highly educated as senior citizens but experience is a great teacher.
What I see today is contrary to what Tata Madiba would have like to see.
He hated racism, lawlessness, idleness, selfishness, economic dependency and all types of violence.
These are but a few of the things he hated.
We are now tired of the word “apartheid” because people who use it mislead our children to cover up for their failures in their offices.
Can we please leave President Jacob Zuma alone so he can perform his duties without interruption?
Very few people would hold that office as he has done during this disorganised, disorientated phase, misled by selfish people in society.
The national government died long ago and its members affiliated to all the present parties, including the ANC. The DA is not the national government; it is an opposition party.
Tata Madiba knew that it was necessary to have opposition parties so as to guide the ruling party in its running of the country and to prevent the ruling party from dragging the whole nation into poverty.
Why do you think Madiba took De Klerk into this parliament? Why do you think he took Mr Buthelezi too?
He was showing people that there is nothing wrong with a party that will oppose you, instead it helps to build your government.
He,Tata, wanted a rainbow nation, which means a new nation with the past eradicated and forgotten.
What I saw at the Colita Hall gate and street on March 26 during the by-election for a Ward Four Councillor was really bad.
We could not even pass through the crowds of the different parties who were canvassing for their parties.
The question is why do councillors allow it if they are doing their jobs satisfactorily?
If you do your work according to your job description, you do not need a crowd to support you because the voters will do that.
Next time, I think if this habit is not controlled, people will not risk dents on their vehicles, just for selfishness.
Children do not get out of control, listen to your parents.
Stop wanting free accommodation, unnecessary grants and most of all stop all the negativity you have amongst yourselves.
Help build a rainbow nation because “you are the government.”
