Community spirit imbues St Dominics Newcastle Night Market

Adding an extra spark to the event, young soccer enthusiasts had their share of fun in a tournament held on the astro turf.

St Dominics Newcastle hosted 32 vendors at its Night Market on Friday, October 27, offering a delightful array of stalls that provided something to pique everyone’s interest.

Operational head for Community Engagement, Raymond van Niekerk, reported that the community spirit at the Night Market remained undeterred despite the howling winds earlier on in the afternoon.

“The camaraderie among attendees, whether friends or families, was palpable across our campus. People gathered, connected and shared memorable moments throughout the evening,” said Van Niekerk.

Guests also enjoyed watching the thrilling clash between Pakistan and the Proteas, where South Africa emerged victorious.

The Cricket World Cup was screened live on the big screen in the Douthwaite Centre.

“Despite the windy weather, the Night Market at St Dom’s was a testament to the power of community spirit, fostering connections and creating unforgettable experiences,” Van Niekerk concluded.

“We look forward to more events that bring us together and celebrate the vibrant spirit of our community. Thank you to all our vendors for their support and to all who attended.”
