This week’s #TechTuesday looks at awesome tricks for making your YouTube experience easier and more enjoyable.

You’ve probably heard of the website YouTube.

The video-sharing website is one of the most popular on the internet.

Perhaps you enjoy cat fails, gaming let’s-plays, or binge-watching music videos.

In any case, here are some tips to improve your YouTube experience.

Avoid watching suggested videos:

Because of YouTube’s latest algorithms, your home page will most likely be filled with suggested content.

If this bothers you, there is a workaround.

Open a new browser tab and enter youtube.com/feed/subscriptions.

This will show you the most recent videos and suggestions based solely on your subscriptions.

Make use of your keyboard:

It’s sometimes nice to just sit back and listen to music.

When watching a video, use keyboard commands if you’re feeling particularly lazy.

J moves the video back 10 seconds, while L moves it forward 10 seconds.

M mutes the sound of a video while K pauses it.

Start a video at a predetermined time:

Consider this: you’ve been watching a video, and one scene in particular has made you laugh out loud.

You’d like to send the same video to a friend.

There are two methods for sending the link and having the video begin at a specific point.

The first step is to right-click on the video and then select “copy video URL at current time.”

The second method is to append #t= plus the desired time to the video URL.

If you want a video to begin one minute and ten seconds in, add #t=70s to its URL.

There are a plethora of other awesome YouTube hacks available, so start exploring.
