Newcastle Mall’s Black Friday shopping tips

Game Store, Sport Scene, and Telkom will open their doors at midnight tonight, so get there early and catch those Black Friday specials!

Black Friday has become the biggest shopping day of the year and as much as we anticipate it, the thought of large crowds and long queues can be daunting!

Beulah Rajkumar, Marketing Manager of the Newcastle Mall, said that in shoppers’ favour, many retailers are launching their holiday deals earlier than Black Friday.

“Whether you’re shopping for holiday gifts or you’re buying for yourself, scoring the best Black Friday deals means starting early.”

Rajkumar has provided the following tips to help shoppers at Newcastle Mall get the most out of discounts:

Start shopping early! And we don’t just mean in the morning. Since many retailers have already begun their Black Friday Specials, it helps to do some research and go to those outlets during the week. Leave the 1-day only stores for the actual Black Friday.

Use adverts to make a list of your needs and wants. Plan your route around the mall – opening and closing times can be found on the mall’s Black Friday link.

Prioritise your must-have items and stores, and check shopping hours to determine at which entrance to park and start shopping.

Ensure you have water on hand to avoid dehydration if you need to stand in a queue.

Remember to sanitise and social distance. Keep your mask on at all times.

Shop with a friend so they can pick up on any deals you may have missed!

Have fun! Make the most of your day and don’t forget to stop at one of our restaurants to get a meal before you leave the mall!

To add to the Black Friday frenzy, stores such as Game Store, Sport Scene, and Telkom will open their doors at midnight tonight, so get there early!

Should you feel unsafe or notice anything suspicious while shopping, please report to the Newcastle Mall control room at Entrance 2, find a security guard nearby, or call the 24hour control room on 034 326 1120.
