Learners conduct sanitary drive to assist a girl child

YMF (Youth Managers Foundation) learners from Vryheid Comprehensive Secondary School working alongside the Department of Social Development conducted a sanitary drive as a way of celebrating women in their month.

21 girls from different high schools benefited from the drive, they also received toiletries. Mncube Awande who is the chairperson of the YMF said, ‘’one of the values of YMF is to have humanity, we do not come from same backgrounds and we need to help where we can.’’

Nosipho Kubheka is the foundation mentor mentioned that ‘’as the foundation we would like to thank the parents of the learners who made them support our initiative, here at school we conducted a competition so we could raise funds and make donations, we are really appreciative for the support from the learners as well as educators”. Bandile Msibi concluded by stating ‘’as the foundation, we plan to give out more to communities, do more projects that raise awareness on different social ills. As we are approaching our exams, I would like to encourage every learner that it is time to focus, no procrastinating and put more effort in every subject.’’
