Academic and sporting excellence at VHS

These learners displayed diligence and dedication to their schoolwork in the second term

Indeed, dynamite comes in small packages! It was a proud moment for the Vryheid High School (VHS) Grade 8 learners and parents as the school honoured the Grade’s top achievers. Regardless of being juniors and subjected to more challenging academic pressure at high school, VHS’s Grade 8s proved to withstand all the academic pressure that came their way. The school is proud to honour S Sbiya, Z Ntuli, N Nkosi, A Maseko, N Nxumalo, N Mdletshe, B Ndima, A Khumalo, N Mtshali and N Ramdhin for making it into the top 10 academic achievers. Undoubtedly, hard work pays off. These learners displayed diligence and dedication to their schoolwork in the second term, and thus have reaped what they have been sowing throughout the term.

A successful parents evening

On Tuesday, July 16, VHS hosted a parents evening where parents met with their children’s educators and had fruitful discussions pertaining to academic achievement. VHS will always encourage the involvement of parents in their children’s academic pursuits. In her remarks, headmistress A Nel stressed the importance of the involvement of parents in learners’ academics and also thanked the parents for showing an interest in their children’s schooling.

RHB 7s Tournament

On Saturday, the school’s 7s rugby teams (U/15s and U/17s) participated in the RHB 7s Rugby Tournament in Richards Bay. Congratulations to the U/15s for coming first in the tournament. The U/17s also did well and secured third place. The scores of all the games are available on the school’s social media platforms.
