Child Protection Week is an event to raise awareness about children's rights as they're set out in the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa and the Children's Act.

Child Protection Week is an event to raise awareness about children’s rights as they’re set out in the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa and the Children’s Act. It consists of a week-long series of events, programmes and campaigning with the aim to stop abuse, exploitation, neglect and all forms of violence towards children.
With that being said, a very successful Child Protection awareness campaign was organised on Monday at Harpo Primary School by Asande Thabede (learner support agent at Harpo), along with her supervisors, Ayanda Kubheka and Mr Mhlungu.
The event was perfectly led by Department of Education social worker Mrs Ntshangase.
Representatives from the local SAPS, Department of Social Development and Lifeline were in attendance to give speeches to the learners.
