St Dominics learners scoop science awards

St Dominics Newcastle won five out of the nine Categories for Best Projects in a High School during the Science Expo.

The Regional Eskom Science Expo and Awards ceremony was held in Newcastle during August.

“We are very proud of the accolades achieved by our learners.”

12 gold awards were awarded to the following learners:

  • Husna Docrat
  • Cheylia Singh
  • Shahir Mohamed
  • Hamzah Ismail
  • Olwethu Makhoba
  • Makayla Govender
  • Ashadh Ramrung
  • Vibhav Ramdas
  • Hannah Peer
  • Khethokuhle Ntsebeza
  • Destiny Jones
  • Best in Agriculture Science – Shakira Seedat
  • Best in Chemistry – Husna Docrat
  • Best in Computer Science – Shahir Mohamed
  • Best in Earth Science – Siphiwokuhle Qwabe
  • Best in Social Sciences – Destiny Jones.
  • St Dominics Newcastle won 5 out of the 9 Categories for Best Projects in High School.
  • Shahir Mohamed won a special award of R500
  • Olwethu Makhoba also won an R500 voucher and a second voucher for the best High School Project of R500.
