Chelmsford Primary school holds a successful career day

Learners came dressed up as lawyers, pilots, doctors, police officers, nurses, chefs, businesspersons and there was even one lone astronaut.

Chelmsford Primary School hosted career for students in grades R through to grade eight this past Friday.

Emergency services personnel, the Newcastle fire department, as well as the South African Police Services spoke to the students about the various career paths.

According to research, giving students an up-close-and-personal look at a variety of job options is important because it clarifies where they see themselves in the future and makes them aware of their own strengths and weaknesses.

It also demonstrates the skills and knowledge needed to achieve one’s future goals.
