Second term at Landbou off to a great start

The matrics are hitting their books and will soon be attending Saturday classes.

Landbou has kicked the term off on a positive note, with sports and cultural activities gaining momentum. Academics will soon take centre stage, with mid-year exams starting on June 1. The matrics are hitting their books and will soon be attending Saturday classes.

During the holiday (April 10 and 11), Landbou and Vryheid High joined together to form a Mass Choir that performed at Vryheid High School. This was a melodious show of unity between the schools.
The second term started with a bang on April 12, with a Blood Bank. Well done to all the learners who took part and did their bit to save a life.

Congratulations to the following learners who were chosen to go through to the KZN trials for netball: U/18 – Samkelisiwe Biyela and Carey Ververis; U/17: Hope Sbisi, Mawande Buthelezi and Redumetse Malomane; U/16 – Amahle Mpotshane; and U/15: Amahle Shezi
Congratulations to the following rugby boys who were chosen to represent the U/16 NKZN team and to go through to the KZN trials: Richard Gyamfi and Anhathi Ndaba.
Hostel mother Zanele Mathenjwa organised for some learners to attend an abattoir, along with Mr Dehan Sonnekus. The children were grateful for this opportunity. Thank you to everyone who made this possible.

There will be an open day on May 12 for all prospective parents and learners to come and view the school and get an idea of what Landbou stands for.
A Speech & Drama evening is coming up, where learners will present different aspects, including short plays and poetry readings.
The school week ended on a positive note on Friday, with an ‘Anything but School Bag Day’. The learners used everything from pots to the school cellphone box to carry their books in. It was a great success and will hopefully become a school tradition!
