Learning how to love life at Landbou

Landbou has had a jam-packed few weeks, full of sport, educational opportunities and even fitting in time for some fun.

Landbou has had a jam-packed few weeks, full of sport, educational opportunities and even fitting in time for some fun.

Valentine’s was celebrated with a belated Valentine’s sokkie on February 23. The venue was beautifully decorated and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, with some learners reporting that it was the highlight of the term and an event not to be missed.

A camp took place over the last weekend of February, which was open for all the Landbou girls. The focus was on self-esteem and sisterhood. The girls enjoyed the safe space that was created for them. They had fun getting to know each other more, as girls, through games and other activities. It was an excellent opportunity to grow the bond of sisterhood.

District hockey trials took place at Pionier High School and the Landbou girls did remarkably well, with six out of the 10 girls being chosen for the district hockey team. Congratulations to the following girls:

U/16: Andrea Green-Thompson, Kwanele Xaba and Lethokuhle Cele.

U/18: Thandolwethu Nokwe, Ayabonga Zungu and Chantelle Ververis.

Landbou also recently hosted Pongola for a sports day, which was a great success and enjoyed by all.

Well done to the four boys who made it through to the next round of rugby trials.

U/16: Richard Gyamfi, Wami Mabose and Anati Ndaba.

U/18: Malwande Hlope.

The Eshowe Sports Festival took place over the weekend. Congratulations to all the teams and coaches who participated. The results were fantastic.

Three new EAs (Educator Assistants) started at Landbou and were immediately thrown into the deep end and put to work. We look forward to getting to know them during their time at Landbou. Welcome to Bongeka Kunene, Mpho Sedise and Nomfundo Ngema.

Scebise Ngema, Chantell Ververis, Lifikile Thabese, Mr Nkosi and Mr Tshabalala went to Harpo Primary School for marketing. They even received a certificate for their efforts. Well done! Thank you to Harpo for the opportunity to promote our school.
