Fun, flavour and festivity at Food Fest

Mortimer Motors Group (MMG) Newcastle hosted its very first Food Festival on Saturday, October 5.

The event, which was held across the Ford, Mahindra, Kia, and Mazda dealerships, was a day packed with delicious delights and vibrant entertainment, marking a memorable occasion for both the community and the MMG family.

Visitors were spoiled for choice with an array of food stalls, offering everything from mouth-watering corn dogs and spicy prego rolls to clay oven pizzas, sub rolls, Gatsby’s, and even pizza cones. To cool off, there were mocktails and other refreshing drinks. The variety of food options catered to every palate, making it a true feast for food lovers.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, the day featured live performances from talented artists including Mari-Louise, Belinda Ellor, and the immensely gifted Lucky Mntambo. Their captivating performances kept the crowd entertained and energised, ensuring everyone had a fantastic time.

Kia joined in the fun by launching an exciting lucky draw exclusive to Kia owners. Throughout October, all Kia owners are invited to visit the dealership for a complimentary coffee and test drive. By doing so, they are automatically entered into the draw to win a personalised Kia hamper worth R2 500.

“It’s an opportunity not to be missed!” said dealer principal at Kia Newcastle, Angelique van Vuuren.

Mahindra made waves by unveiling its brand-new 3XO SUV during the event, with test drives available throughout the day. The SUV drew a lot of attention, with many excited to experience its features first-hand.

“This inaugural festival was a resounding success, and it’s only the beginning! MMG is already planning an even bigger and better event for next year, so mark your calendars now. You won’t want to miss it,” promised Van Vuuren.

“A special thanks goes out to Travellers Pop Up Markets & Events for their incredible support in making this day possible, and, of course, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day so enjoyable.”

Tara Wood of Travellers Pop Up Markets & Events thanked MMG ‘for creating an opportunity for small local business to prosper’. Wood said the event was definitely enjoyed by young and old alike.

The next market day will be hosted at Majuba Lodge on November 2.
