Leaders Zim Stars dominate struggling Legends 2-0

The RBCA Chartered Accountant Super League continued this past Sunday with three matches kicking off.

Hammers and City of Refuge got the ball rolling. COR. who are still to register a point on the board, started as the underdogs.

Hammers, however, started like a house on fire but COR’s well-organised defence managed to repel the onslaught.

Surprisingly, COR caught Hammers on the counterattack to take the lead.

A few minutes later, COR doubled their lead and went into the break 2 goals to the good.

In the second half, COR chose to defend.

However, this tactic could not keep Hammers at bay and Hammers scored twice to level the score.

The game ended in a 2–2 draw.

COR were disappointed to surrender a 2-goal advantage but happy to earn a point. Hammers, on the other hand, were relieved to squeeze out a point from the game.

Spartans and Munawarah were next up and they served up a thriller. Munawarah drew first blood to score early.
Guns blazing

Spartans searched for an equaliser that did not come. Meanwhile, Munawarah netted again.

In the second half, the Spartans came out all guns blazing and managed to snatch two goals. But with the last kick of the ball, Munawarah scored again to edge out the Spartans 3-2.

Finally, it was RBCA Chartered Accountant Super League leaders Zim Stars who came against a struggling Newcastle Legends.

It didn’t take long for the Zim Stars to open the scoring through Judmark. Legends were struggling in defence and Zim Stars got the second.

As the game progressed, Legends began to find their feet. In the second half, the Legends missed two clear opportunities.

As the clock ticked, Legends threw everything in attack but Zim Stars stood tall.

The game ended with Zim Stars running out 2-nil victors.

The RBCA Chartered Accountant Super League continues this coming Sunday at the Fernwood grounds from 13:00.
