Mayor introduces contractor to build VIP toilets in Driefontein

100 households are expected to benefit from the project

uThukela District Municipality Mayor Inkosi NB Shabalala introduced DLV Project Managers as the contractor that will build 100 VIP toilets in Ward 19, Driefontein area.

An event was held at the Thusong Centre on Tuesday (September 10), where the mayor engaged with the local community regarding this project.

He said that Cllr Mswane of Ward 19 had asked for toilets and as the municipality, they did not have the budget at the time. “We had to ask national government for help and fortunately they have given the whole of uThukela a total of 2000 toilets. We had to split that amount equally so that more wards will benefit. It is for this reason that today we announce that 100 precast VIP toilets are set to be built in the area,” said Mayor Shabalala.
