Jenavieve’s journey of passion, pluck and advocacy for animal welfare

Born in Swakopmund, Namibia in 1982, Jenavieve Tinkler's life has been a testament to passion, perseverance and a deep commitment to animal welfare.

After matriculating from Ferrum High School in 2000, Jenavieve embarked on a journey that would eventually lead her to become a qualified inspector at the Newcastle SPCA – a role she had long aspired to.

As a single mother of two children who share her love for animals, Jenavieve’s life is filled with the joys of parenting and pet ownership. The family has two dogs and a cat and often spends their free time enjoying the outdoors.

Her strong support system, including her mother, brother, sister-in-law, and close community, plays a vital role in her life, for which she is immensely grateful.

Together, they cherish family gatherings, braais, and trips to Moorefield or to the dam where they relax and enjoy quality time.

She also wished to thank her SPCA Committee for their unwavering support whenever she needed help – whether it was with her children or tasks or studies – they were always there for her.

“I also need to give a special thank you to SPCA Treasurer, Heather Gero, because she is just truly one amazing woman and mentor,” she said.
