Persistent sewer leak in Pretorius Street

Residents in Pretorius Street are fuming because of a sewer leak that has been reported several times, but nothing has been done to remedy the problem.

The leak is in one resident’s yard, but the dirty water is now flooding a business premises next door and flowing down the street, filling potholes as it goes.

“This leak is really affecting us. Our kitchen directly faces the smelly water, so we can’t cook when the door is open, as the stench is unbearable,” said a neighbour.

The homeowner in whose yard the leak is, is worried about the health and hygiene of his family, especially because his daughter has an asthma problem.
