Local hero’s honoured during 2023/2024 Amajuba District SAPS Excellence Awards

The area's men and women in blue were honoured for the hard work and dedication they put into ensuring their communities can sleep soundly at night at the risk of their own safety.

Law enforcement officers traded in their uniforms for ball gowns, suits, and ties as they entered the beautifully decked hall dressed in their best attire to celebrate each other and their own achievements while receiving the red carpet treatment.

The prestigious SAPS Amajuba District Excellence Awards were hosted for the first time last Thursday evening (August 15) at Blue Ridge Farm.

The atmosphere was jovial with good-natured banter, laughter, and the sounds of constant cheers and applause as one by one our local heroes made their way to the stage to be awarded for their hard work.

In an unexpected turn of events, the small Hattingspruit SAPS scooped the most sought-after award of the evening. The station, just 13km from Dundee, bagged the coveted Station of the Year award.

Although the win might have come as a surprise to many in attendance, it was said they had won by a landslide.
