A bakkie overturned this afternoon (August 12) on the N3 Johannesburg-bound between Ultra City and Frere.
According to an official at the scene, an investigation will be conducted into the crash, but preliminary reports indicate that the bakkie suffered a blowout to one of the back tyres. The vehicle veered off the road and overturned, finally being halted by the roadside barrier.

The driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The bakkie was transporting cardboard boxes full of fruit and vegetables, which were scattered all over the road in the aftermath of the accident.
SAPS, traffic police, ambulance services and towing services responded to the scene.
