Fourth Annual Miss Wonder Women Pageant to take place this August

Sharnè Dheochand is back on the frontline in the fight against breast cancer

Sharnè will host her fourth annual Miss Wonder Woman breast cancer awareness pageant on August 17 at 18:00 at Blackrock Casino.

Entrance fee is R120 per person and a cash bar and food will be available.

The dress code is formal and spacing is limited; so book your seats timeously.

Each year, the funds raised are donated to Reach for Recovery, a non-profit organisation that specialises in cancer treatment.

Reach for Recovery also assists women (at no charge or those without medical aid) with mammograms for early detection as well as prosthetic bras and prosthetics.

Miss Wonder Woman:

There will be practices and arrangements will be made for the designated WhatsApp group. The official last practice will take place on the day of the pageant at Blackrock Casino.

Sharnè encourages all women from all walks of life to ‘walk that ramp’ and make a difference while participating in a formal and glamorous event.

The age categories will be as follows: 3-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-16, and 17+ years old.

The pageant will cost R200 per contestant, and each contestant is expected to fundraise a minimum of R800.

Each contestant is expected to wear two outfits as follows:

Outfit 1: Animal print-themed outfit.

Outfit 2: Evening wear (no cocktail dresses will be allowed).

Models are expected to arrive with their hair and makeup done, dressed in their animal-themed outfits and be ready for their opening dance and walk.

A top three will be selected in each age category. There will be one Supreme overall winner and one Miss Debutante.

This year’s prizes will be bigger and better than before, including prizes such as sashes, crowns, and cash while Miss Debutante will win the most prestigious award of the night.

“Don’t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! We are women; we can and we will conquer,” concluded Sharnè.
