On Monday (July 22), Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality Mayor Mduduzi Myeza celebrated his birthday by giving back to the community.
Accompanied by Speaker SW Khumalo and the manager in the mayor’s office, N Ndlovu, Mayor Myeza went to Esigodlweni, Paapkuilsfontein, Ezakhiweni, Nhlalakahle and Ntokozweni, where he handed out groceries and warm blankets to community members, mostly women.

The mayor quipped that he was the one who was supposed to be receiving gifts, but believed it would be a good thing to spend his special day visiting women and giving them gifts for bringing life into the world.
“I gifted them warm blankets because, as someone who was born in July, I understand very well how cold it is this month,” the mayor said.
