Striking security staff close gates at municipality
The municipality is expected to address the protesters later today
Work at Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality came to a grinding halt this morning (July 22) following a strike by security staff.
The security guards told the Estcourt News that they want their jobs back after being fired by the municipality. The company that hired them, Wise Security, was removed when its time at the municipality expired.

Municipal staff were forced to stand outside after the strikers closed all the gates at the municipality.
Police responded and monitored the situation from outside the premises.
