MEC for Human Settlements inspects housing project in Acaciavale

He received reports on challenges that have caused delays

MEC for Human Settlements Siboniso Duma conducted a housing project inspection in Acaciavale, Ward 20, today (July 4).

The housing project has been progressing at a snail’s pace since it was introduced in 2022.

This visit was part of the ‘Siyahlola’ programme, where he visits projects that fall under the department to monitor the progress made.

His day started in Estcourt, where he monitored the construction of the Qabango River Bridge in Ward 18 and 19 under Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality.

The bridge, which is valued at R49.6 million, has seen over 17 women and 32 young people being employed.
“Through the construction of the Qabango River Bridge, we are fast-tracking the entry of small players into the construction industry,” said MEC Duma.
