Severe thunderstorms expected today
Heavy rain and hail is predicted this afternoon and evening
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a level 2 severe thunderstorms warning within the local municipal area.
The warning is valid for today (June 3) from 15:00 until 23:00.
The SAWS predicts widespread showers and thunderstorms that could lead to localised flooding.
Power surges are also expected due to lightning. The storms are expected to be accompanied by damaging winds, hail and heavy downpours.

Residents are advised to take caution and stay away from low-lying areas.
Rain has already been falling in Ladysmith this morning, accompanied by a bit of hail.
