Horrifying crash on R34
The R34 is known for heavy traffic (especially trucks) making its way to Richards Bay
Two people died after two trucks collided and burst into flames on the R34 on Monday morning. The accident happened between Ulundi and Gluckstadt, close to Babanango Game Reserve. According to paramedics at the scene, it was a gruesome spectacle and the body of one of the drivers was badly maimed. Video footage of the crash indicates that one of the trucks may have tried to avoid overhanging trees and misjudged the sharp turn in the road, crashing head-on into an oncoming truck. Further speculations indicate that the truck may have been speeding and lost control at the turn. The R34 is known for heavy traffic (especially trucks) making its way to Richards Bay, and several accidents happen every week between Vryheid and Richards Bay.
